Principal's Message

Welcome back! We look forward to the 2017-2018 school year. I am entering my fifth year as principal at our great school!  For those who don't know about Phippsburg Elementary School, we are a pre-kindergarten through fifth grade public elementary school, which is located in an area rich with natural resources. Phippsburg is a peninsula community bounded by the Kennebec River and the Atlantic Ocean. We have strong community partners, such as the Phippsburg Land Trust, Phippsburg Conservation Committee, Bates Morse Mountain Preserve, and our very active PTA.

Because we are a small school, our team of educators knows each student and his or her needs in a way that allows us to customize aspects of each child’s learning.  I am proud of the work teachers do to meet the academic and social-emotional needs of students.  We are fortunate to have such wonderful students who love learning, and family partners who volunteer so tirelessly!

I know this is going to be another fantastic year.  As always, if you have any questions or feedback, you may call me at (207)389-1514 or email me at sgorsuch-plummer@rsu1.org.

For current news throughout the school year, please be sure to click on the link to our newsletter, The Phippsburg Explorer’s Log.  These weekly newsletters are sent home in our Thursday folder, and may be e-mailed to families and friends every week throughout the school year.  You can also check the PES Facebook page for up-to-the-minute information, or follow me on Twitter @mrsgppes!
